Belated CNY visit in Spore

We spent a couple of days in Singapore for the belated CNY.. It wasn't too late actually, we managed to be there on the 7th day of CNY which is also known as "human birthday" in the Chinese calendar.. I have no idea what it meant, but Grandma said it symbolizes everyones' birthday. I know Josh would have lots to say about that.

my baby brother Randy is so excited by the presence of Josh, and had persuaded my mom for hours for permission to go out with us. He's gotten his way! He's happy! Although we have warned him about the wait, he insisted that he wants to tag along. He don't know what he's gotten himself into

So here we go...

2 hours of wait...

FINALLY got his Milo Mcflurry!!! :)

I'm so proud to say that he is one of the most patient little boy i've seen. He doesn't mind the wait and he doesn't mind the walk.. Good on you baby bro!!!!

Andy, MJ, Josh and Me.. Just like the old times!! Except PY cant join us, cause of meeting at work. We have a new member in the group now, and his name is....... Randy.

PY managed to join us at home :)

Next stop.... tu~tu~tu~tu~tu~ City Hall Interchange.. Suntec City.. New Creation Church!!!

Fatty Crab at Taman Megah

Is the crab really fat?
Josh: Not really.

Are the workers there really fat?
Josh: Hmm.. nope

Are the people eating there really fat?
Josh: Nope, not really

Then why is it call fatty crab?
Josh: hhahahahah!! I don't know.. the only logical explanation is that.. if you eat too much, when you have your morning "meditation" the next day, you'll get a fatty............ erm.. nevermind.. hahhahhaha!!!!

now you see....

now you don't!!!!

Tim is happy with his bread toast
fyi: 1 toast cut is cut into 2 pieces. we've ordered 15 toasts. That would be 30 pieces of toast!!!!!!

Another Picture of Tim with toast

Mizi with toast!

Everyone is so contented with their toasts.. You guys do know that the specialty at Fatty Crab is the crab right? and hence the name Fatty Crab?? hehehhee!!

I must say though, the toasts goes really well with the crab's sauce.

Here's the stuffs that we normally ordered when we're there:
1) Chicken Wings
2) Fried Rice
3) Garlic Prawns
4) Crab with their special sauce
5) TOAST

Katong Laksa 328

MMMMMmmmmmmm.. the aroma of the coconut, fragrance of the leaves and spoonful of enticing chilli makes you want to go back for moreeeeee!!!!!

First thing first, how did I came across this place?
Josh: I went to school at Ceylon Road, Katong Laksa is just less than 100 steps from my college.

Candy: Josh introduced me to Katong Laksa. To think about it, it's quite an irony. An Indonesian bringing a Singaporean to Singapore local delight, doesn't it sounds a little strange? Hahahhaa!!! Well, it doesn't really matter now.. I'm happy that I got my Katong Laksa!!!! It's better late than never right?

Whenever we go to Singapore, this would be the first thing we crave for and would be the first place we go to after checking in.

What do you normally order?
2 bowls of Laksa (medium) + 1 Rojak (you tiao only) + 2 iced barley

Laska (Medium Bowl)

Rojak (You Tiao only)

OOPS.. Josh is giving me the "DO NOT DISTURB" look

Alright... Moving On :P

Popeye Chicken & Biscuit

See what I mean? What did I say about being LOVED in my last post? When you love the universe, the universal would love you back. It's the law of attractions :)

In Singapore, you could only get it in Changi Airport Terminal 1. In Malaysia, there's none at all until early 2009 at TTDI. Finally, they decided to open one in Cineleisure Damansara in 2010 :) Yup, thats the first meal we had on 1st Jan 2010!!

Candy: My favorite dish on the menu is Fish and Shrimps set with a Large Coleslaw. I don't know how it happens. Friends and families who know me well would find it weird. I'm more of a potato person than a veggie person, I wouldn't trade my potato for anything else. There's something about this coleslaw that I couldn't resist.

Theobroma Chocolate Lounge

Theobroma Chocolate Lounge franchise is originated from Australia. The first outlet in Malaysia was seen in Pavilion. Other branches include 1 Utama, Bangsar Village Shopping Centre, LCCT and once again THE CURVE!!

What should I say.. There's 2 ways to look at it.. "WOW, God must have love me so much to put all my favorite food in 1 place" or "DAMN U devil, get these food away from me, led me not into temptations!!" Guess which one I'll pick? Of course the 1st one. I like to feel LOVED :P

Little Taiwan Cafe

The first Little Taiwan cafe I went to was Tampines Mall, Singapore in 1997. They closed down around 2004 I think and I couldn't find it anywhere else till I moved to Malaysia. Little Taiwan has an outlet in Pavilion, Sungei Wang, Avenue K, Midvalley and recently opened a new branch in Cineleisure Damansara. I love the latter location, which is just minutes away from where I live.

Candy: My favorite drink on the menu is Mint Pearl Milk Tea with extra peppermint. It's been my favorite since 1997. I love their salted crispy chicken too!

Josh: Mine is Mango Ice Blend. It would be perfect if they come up with Mango Smoothie though. Too bad for me I guess.
